From an email sent by Mariangela on April 15:
“I have been horrible in keeping in contact with you, sorry. The last month has been too extreme for me with so much pain and doubts, but even though I am starting my journey in the black tunnel, I know there is a light shining for me at the end of it.
I have been now more than a week at hospital and I am good taken care of. Pain is “gone/hidden” with tons of medications and chemotherapy started last Friday.
Imagine that when I arrived in Switzerland I had an hematome in my spinall cord, and I was paralized from waist downwards for a day. They did not operate because of the leukemia and by “chance” I am back on my feet again and according to the physioterapist in best shape, so my daily trips to FIFAFIT are paying back!!!
Doctors believe that because of my age and shape, I have very good chances of complete healing, which is the goal.
The timeline is unknown, I believe in miracles. I know you are sending me positive thoughts and I am indeed missing everyday in the office.
I have received so many nice wishes, mails, cards, etc from friends and business partners, it is really touching and peter is overhelmed, he did not know I was “so popular within FIFA”.
I send you and your family a big hug, and trry to keep in touch as often as possible. It is quite at hospital, but I do need peace, quite and much rest, I have asked for no visitors.
taking a shower is the highlight of my day and is my daily everest climb. Then resting, eating, meditating, coping with nausea, watching a bit tv…this is what I do…and it is too much. Compared to what I did in the past…
Hope work is ok and that you are copying with one person less supporting.”

Ramona,We have been trying to get info about Mariangela´s progress but it wasn´t until now that I was able to get an address. Goria Cisneros, Lyla, and I want to tell you that we are praying for your daughter´s recuperation. I thoroughly enjoyed reading of her progress and hope that she continues so well. I noticed a resemblance in her boys with Rosana´s. We will keep you in our prayers and will continue to monitor the blog to follow her progress. Paula Fabrega
